: Hey everybody her'es a good topic for discussion . I ;m constantly confronted with my love for secular music and concerts and was wondering if here;s the question . Is it ok for christians who truly seek to serve God and glorify God in everything they do to listen to secular music or go to concerts?. I thik yes and some scripture verses I looked up for this question was 1Cor6:12, 1Cor*1-13 and Romans14:12-20. What does anyone think? Ravencrest

I like music a lot. I could at some times be considered a music snob. I think that the question at hand here is, what kinds of "secular" music are you refering to? If the lyrical content of this music is glorifying sin, there's no way that it could be good for your spiritual walk, though it may not send you to hell, it very well could be a contributing factor to stunted growth, so to speak. There are a lot of secular bands that I think are great. They glorify God, they call people to live better lives, etc. Sure, there may be some curse words here and there, but the lyrical content as far as the message is concerned is right on. That's where I'm coming from. If the lyrics are crap, I don't want it cluttering up my mind. Now, I'm not perfect in this area either. There are some bands that I like the music to so much, that I'll listen to the music and try not to here the offensiveness. This is wrong. If there is an internal conflict, chances are, God is calling.
