this week was good. it started with me and steve watching WELCOME HOME ROXY CARMICHAEL. That is a great movie, not just because Winona Ryder plays Dinky Passetti, but becaue Melissa Etheridge does the soundtrack. After I saw the movie I just wanted to go find a girl named Dinky and help her build a house for pigs and just sit on the grass and eat chocolate sundaes, or maybe just roll around on the grass and kiss. anyway, that movie is great, I mean if you are anything like me, you'll love it. you really will. plus, the guy that plays her boyfriend was awesome. you'll really like the cool, driving, eighties pace of it. I use to hate Melissa Etheridge. There were my reasons. The media turned her into the queen of lesbian rock. That didn't help me 'relate'. I used to say she was just into angry chick rock. Then one day I really heard on of her songs and I realized what a strong musical and lyrical gift she has. She is strong on all fronts, even if I may not agree with all her conclusions. she is fast becoming someone I not only respect but would love to follow and collect. She sings about the human spirit, about love, and loss and about being positive and strong and 'getting through' the wreckage of love. She is a friend to alot of people out there who she 'connects to'. Thanks Melissa. So, for fans of Mermaids, Heathers and other great Ryder films, here is one more to add to your list. This is a guaranteed winner. Plus, this week I also got to see most of Resevoir Dogs. I still hate the torture scenes but found myself falling in love with that movie, just like Heather tuesday told me I would. I just can't bear to see people whipping out razor blades and playing quirky music at the same time. Hope that I can watch it again and fast forward through the torture scenes and all the violenece. Notice I'm not censoring the violence, I just think that it's not for me. I love the part where that one guy is in the bathroom and the cops are telling this story and it's all just really dreamy and slow. that guy looks just like iggy pop when he was younger, at least i think so. you know, i wonder if anyone ever thought about that. so, just some movie thoughts. Love, Bill
