I just get tired of all this wordly weight that drags along with us. Jesus said that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Something doesn't quite match up when we always think that to follow God means that we will be ground into the dirt under oppressive weight. The cool thing about God is that when we share in His sufferings it is pure joy to do so, not heaviness. If we are drudging then something is wrong, and i wager it isn't with God.
The early Christians went to their torturous deaths singing and praising God until the flames seared their tongues or the blood filled their lungs. That is joy.
Like St Francis i want to live like the animals who praise God with everything they do. They depend on him utterly and are happy. i know because I watch them, flowers too... yes even bubbles have a joy of creation that is present in their form if you look.
Do I have to walk away from every object that i own to live this way? Francis did. Jesus and the Twelve disciples did. I want to, but i am still chained to things yet. When they break I will be a bubble. I can feel it coming... I can't take much more.
