There is nothing like a horrendous tragedy to make one reflect on their
life, their purpose, their priorities. If you have children, stop
everything you're doing and go over and hug them and tell them you love
them.
I can't even begin to describe the mood here in Denver. I graduated in
Littleton as well as lived there for quite a while and if ever there was an
unlikely place for this to happen, it would be there.
The day before the Littleton Massacre a man pulled out a shotgun and
shot a man dead in his car with his five year old daughter watching in
the passenger seat in broad daylight, in a fairly busy super market
parking lot here. This happened one block away from where I am moving
next week. As of yet, they have not caught the man. This is not a
horrible neighborhood by any means, at least not compared to where I
lived in L.A.
If there were any doubt in my mind that the end times were near,
they have been dispelled this week. I know some of you aren't
Christians. I've never steamrolled my faith over anyone, but let me
tell you this...times aren't going to get any easier. Take a good
long look at your life. Except for the grace of God (and I know this
oh-so-well!) you and I would not be here.
Please pray for the students of Columbine and their parents as well.
Please pray for the teenagers who did it. I understand the hopeless
black abyss of their thinking and know there are many more people out
there close to crossing the line. Please pray for that little five year
old girl and her family.
In two weeks the NRA is going to be having their convention here in
Denver. Already there are talks of demonstrations and pending
violence. Pray for peace. Man in his ignorant, carnal nature will
never bring about true peace and grace. ONLY GOD CAN! Take a minute to
really reflect about your life.
