Saw this question at the posted here: "DO YOU GUYS EVER HAVE ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES PUNK? THERE IS MORE TO MUSIC THAN PUNK YOU KNOW...". We do promote other concerts besides punk. We do ska, industrial, hardcore, alternative, acoustic, and we've even done goth (Eva-O), blues, and reggae. The problem is, when do alternative or industrial shows -- NO ONE COMES OUT! And then we lose money. I would LOVE to do more un-punk shows...but there just isn't the crowds for them. It would be wonderful since I'm not really into punk or ska. But there are things like contracts where we have to pay the band, food, hotel, etc. and then pay for sound and promotion. When only 40 people show up we get killed. Plus the MAJORITY of touring bands are punk or ska...PLUS most local bands are punk. It's just what the kids want.
I remember when we did Vigalntes of Love about a year ago can came up $800 short. They were really cool and took what we had. Anyway, there are your reasons. Any ideas on how to get more people out for non-punk shows would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott Will
