Today I will meet two more final exams. I expect to find them stubbornly engaging but not petulant, decidedly demanding yet pleasantly conciliatory, wrapping me me up in their magical spell with promises of vindication and honor. (I dare not consider the alternative!) I will tame them with finesse and charm them with insight and wisdom. I will win their trust and their allegiance, and they will honor me. I will be their master. Oh yes, I will.
