Wow! Can't believe it! Twice in one month! O.K. This weekend was pretty heavy! Friday Ryan swings by and we sort of chat while Marc paints the house with his glo-sticks. Joe, our neighbor from across the patio is putting up Christmas lights. This is sure a bright place. We sit and chat into the alte hours of the night. It is sooooo good to see Ryan installed at the Palace. The next night Marc paints the house again. I am cranky and fed up with my little cop trouble but Sunday comes and Terry joins us for a brief and dangerous jog through Palma Ceia traffic. We stumble into the Jade Garden and order $8 dinners and chow down. We repair to Mass at Sacred Heart, the oldest church in town. It is funny since afterward we realize that the candles on either side of the church are red and blue--the same red and blue of Marc's glo-sticks. So we made this little connection. We go home and hang with Terry for awhile. Right before we begin to say some prayers, Skydancer and Buffalo bob show up along with Mr. K, who is fresh from practice on his new role as the centurion who makes Simon carry the cross. We sit and chat after prayers and Mr. K acts out his scene. Then, we turn on Jacob Eagle Eye, the Native Am DJ on WMNF's Two Worlds Show. He always rocks in his laid back voice, and we fall into the sonic world of Mirabal, the Northern Cree Singers and other, newer, younger drums that are coming up. Drums whose names I haven't heard of yet. Sky knows some of them. Anyway, Marc starts his grass dancing or whatever, and soon it's Northern Traditional again, with Mr. K too. Marc learns to twirl socks and transforms into a modern fancy dancer right there in the living room/ballroom of the Pink Palace. He was the raging green porchlight! A signal from another world. It was beautiful! Tonight Barry comes over and we talk about Bill/Barry stuff. Hey, it's been a crazy week. Gotta run.........email me for the new phone number......
