: I guess this would be a good way to start dialogue on art. Who is your favorite artist (could be a painter, sketch artist, sculptor, actor, musician, writer, etc.) Just share who's artwork touches you and why.
:
: For me right now my favorite artist is Antonio Gaudi, from Barcelona,
: Spain. He is one of the greatest architects I have ever seen. His
: work springs from the ground like plantlife. His churches and great
: secular architecture are full of Heavenly vitality. They grow more
: like giant insects and amphibians and plants and don't hold to the
: rigid square patterns of the past. You can really lose yourself in
: his work. The detail and variety are as striking as nature herself.
: Also, he is very classical in his church buildings. In other words he
: carries on certain longstanding traditions that are essential to
: Catholic architecture, without repeating the same old conventions. He
: really jumped way ahead of other architects here. He is magical.
: Gaudi is the Chagall, the Dr. Seuss, yes!--even the Tim Burton of
: architecture. Just one look at any photo collection of his will
: reveal how profound he is! Not to mention, there is currently a cause
: for his sainthood underway. Apparently, he, like Andy Warhol, had a
: quiet lifestyle of service to the poor and frequent mass attendance.
: He was known among friends and colleauges for his outstanding
: holiness and work for the church. He sought to teach about God
: through his architecture. Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention. He
: is to architecture, what Robert Smith and The Cure is to music.

Right now, I'd have to say Scott Staap from Creed....Most of his lyrics are border line Christainity in a Secular world. His past and his upbringing are on the side of the spectrum of what CLF is based on....He is on the side of the spectrum without grace....
