: Also, do something for your body too. If you are progressing spiritually, keep your body in good shape. Stay active, take walks--they open up your brain.
: For those who have trouble holding to the more mystic language, this is just as true physiologically. Our minds and bodies are connected despite what some would say. Exercise stimulates endorphins and hormones that make you more alert, more at peace physically. Your body was made to do things. Our sedentary culture implies that this is not so. Physical work helps if done in a peaceful, fulfilling manner, otherwise do something physical, anything, play, walk, dance. It takes time to get the chemicals flowing so keep it up for several weeks and you will see. It is guaranteed, as sure as a rock falls downward, if you do something physical for at least 30 minutes weekly you will see benefits, the more often you do it, the faster you will see results.
: In the same way diet is important. Cut the sugar, cut the chemicals, cut the grease. Drink alot of water until it begins to taste good to you. Your body will desire it, you will tolerate heat better and then other drinks will become foreign to your palate. It is simple biomechanics. We are poisoning ourselves. And in our particular circle, which is already prone to depression and other mood disorders, these things are especially important.
: But what good is it to say be well and do nothing, so here's the feet to my claims: If anyone wants help to learn these habits that will make you feel better and help you in your pursuit of God, then just ask me. The only thing is that the motivation and committment must come from you, no one can give you that.
