I'll go ahead an answer the first questions (considering that I got carried away with the personal stuff...)
The show is on Tuesday, April 10 at the Pine Street Lounge (directions available by email directly).
We are the only act, and we start at 10. We'll play two sets and be done by a bit after 12. Ummmm, oh -- you must be at least 21 to get in. The door charge is $3.00, but if you guys are driving from Tampa, let me know before-hand and I'll "take care of you." (Not in the gangster sense, but in the dollar sense). That was a pun. Ok, enough! Ummmm... we play "modern, aggressive rock." We play the following covers (to give you an idea of style): Stinkfist, Tool; Mudshovel, Staind; White Discussion, Live; Come Together, Beatles; and a medly (sp?) of Rage Against the Machine. The rest of our stuff is original.
Hopefully I have not shamed myself with this degrading self-promotion, but I am quite familiar with shame, so it wouldn't be anything new.
A final note (<-- weak pun) before I'm done (<--even weaker rhyme). We are all Christians -- we love God, and we have accepted Christ's sacrifice into our lives. We have chosen to follow the path he has laid out for us, and we believe that this path is through music. We haven't preached from stage (or given altar calls, etc.) -- not because we believe this practice to be invalid, but because we just haven't been "lead" in that direction. This statement is not intended to appeal to anyone's "Christian Sensibilities" (in my previous posts, one could assume that I have no "sense" -- sorry, I couldn't resist that one!) to try and "guilt" people in to coming. I just wanted you to know where we are coming from. All that said, the show is in a club, and there will be many people who are NOT coming from a Christian "direction."
Ok, now I will go...
Thanks for allowing me the time/space to fill with my hot air...
And Steve & Cari -- it would be super-awesome if you were able to make it!!!
Jason
P.S. Oh -- the band is called "blakvox"
