: Sorry man, I am extremely underimpressed by this display. I thought you had more linguistic scruples than this. The beauty of words and language is that they are mere sounds or symbols that convey very specific meanings. The artistry of words is to combine them into ways that state what you want to say the most clearly. You just can't go making up nonsense that SOUNDS like it means something. This is like cutting out the k in knife because it is extraneous...maybe so, but you jsut can't do it and call it English. Just like in music you can't go throwing sounds together and expect it to sound like music. There are parameters. Well, I guess you CAN do it, you just did, but it loses all meaning. Remember Esperanto? You jsut can't go arbitrarily making up language, it just doesn't work. Now if you had been making new compounds based on real roots and following most standard English grammer... THAT would have been immpressive.

not trying to impress, but hey, you might not have been privy to the point. the original intention, when i did this exercise was to enjoy the fluid nature of cursive writing. so i tried my hand at making up new words that flowed as I wrote. this was not any kind of automatic writing thing to get myself in an altered state. this was pure whimsy--nonsense. there is a whole tradition in this. see lewis carroll or g.k. chesterton for instance, not to mention roald dahl. anyway, i know the glories of language rather well. i have often composed meaningful words as well as nonsense words. to me, this has it's own place, but so does nonsense. sort of like people choosing symbols to mean things, or just choosing them because they are cool. if i was tattooing these words on my flesh, you better know they'd mean something. some of the words i have come up with are:

wesleyancatholic-catholic who comes to Rome via Methodism
longing-stretching out
homogenamity-friendship between two members of the same gender
ordic-having to do with structure
moroding-morose and brooding
arda-order
sang-motion, energy
kar-love

and others......

so, thanks for the input but some things are just done for the sheer pleasure, sort of like a stroll through the countryside or playing in the rain.
