Prayer is a way of communicating with God.
Prayer works because the person praying believes God answers their prayers, I believe this is true no matter how often you pray.
Of course if you believe the bible you know that you are supposed to pray according to God's will.
By the same token . God knows the sincerity of your prayers and the desires of your heart.
Pray regardless of anything, whether you feel worthy or not, whether you know what to ask for or not.
Follow Jesus' instruction on how to pray, if your stuck, in Matthew 6 starting in verse 5.
