In Denmark, the TV stations have been covering the development from 20 minutes after the first attack - even during the night hours. People were in chok! They flocked to the Amercan embassy in Copenhagen to put flowers and light candles - even the muslim communities in Denmark! The "official Denmark" held a memorial service on the evening of the 12th with participation of the government and the Queen - and ordinary people (as this is still possible in Denmark, but I wonder how long this situation will last). There will be a 3 min. silence here today, too.
You know, of course, that the European countries have promised America their full support.
What I find TERRIFYING is the possibility that that may just not be enough. The investigations seem to point at the existance of groups all over the Western world, who are ready to act if the US or its allies strike back. Who knows what they are capable of. I fear we all have a very difficult time ahead of us.
Í also believe it would be worth while analysing what brought on such hatred.
