: What does it mean to believe in His name?

Great topic. What indeed does the name of Yeshua mean, anyway? What does it mean to believe in his name?

To relate to previous discussions--I too studied world religions, as you know, and I feel like I trust the name of Yeshua more sincerely than I did before. I would ask: If I am secure in what I believe, why would exposure to other teachings cause defensiveness or feelings of vulnerability? Why would I not want to consider that God has revealed truth throughout the centuries in many ways to many different peoples? He is a big God, after all. All things live and move and have their being in him. (This verse was not written by a Christian, and yet Paul quotes it as an obvious truth.) Is it incredible to believe that others have perceived the divine presence in other ways throughout history? Does realizing this fact somehow strip Yeshua of his position as the ultimate revelation of God? Does his name lose its power and significance in the light of other beliefs?

What indeed does the name of Yeshua mean, anyway? What does it mean to believe in his name?

Why is there so much power in that name for some of those who know him? Why do so many claiming to know him find little real power in his name?

What indeed does the name of Yeshua mean, anyway? What does it mean to believe in his name?
