: Friendship heals. God uses friendship to recreate and restore something in us that would languish and die otherwise. At times it must be healed first, but afterwards it bears an incredible and mysterious power to heal everything else it touches.

This post made me think about my friend Debbie. Actually I should say my "friendship" with Debbie.
We met shortly after I moved in right next to her and her three children.
she had recently left her husband of twelve years and had also lost her father, I had left my husband of 9 years, We clicked right away. We lived next to each other for about a year and during that time we cooked meals together, babysat for each other, went shopping and spent much time sitting on our cars in front of the apartments talking into the wee hours of the morning.
I know God put us together for this really difficult time in both our lives.
Debbie came to the Lord after I took her to church a few times, I don't think i have ever been that close to someone, we knew each other inside and out, through thick and thin. We sort of moved away from each other and she lives about a 2 hour drive from me.
If there is anything I can count on it's the healing power of our friendship. When I am having troubles she seems to be aware of it before I call. All it takes is a few moments on the phone with her and she is dispensing advice and administering laughter like a skilled physician.

I can't describe the value of our frienship properly.
