I know. It's sad how things like that will never be known by others. That was truly a unique time in our 'tribal history'. I felt a pang last night seeing so many of you and knowing that our relationships have changed so much and I just feel like I want to go back to that time. But I know we can't. We have to reenchant this moment. We need to allow that dynamic to flourish for us now. This might take work. In my case it has meant using the message board. That's how I travel these days. Thanks for liking my art. If I ever did sell a piece there, I would give some money to the church for letting me show the work. I actually bought one though. One of Michael's.
: BTW, Steven and I just watched an old school video of Tampa Refuge (before we became Crossover). A lot of the old crowd was on it. Baby Bill, Bald Cari, Singing Suze, Drummer Dave, Harry Winn, 12 year old Matt, Pete O. and his stone washed purple pants (before Aprille started dressing him), Jay, Jason, some cute pastor with really long hair, etc. It was really nice to see the old family, but now I have an ache in my heart for the old days. I wish we could travel back in time to 8 years ago. It makes me sad that such a good thing had to change. Very few of the new family even got to experience those days ;{
Man, I'd love to see some of that footage. Joe Video came over here recently and he and I just watched a ton of old stuff, which went even back to the old Refuge days, before Crossover/Refuge was even heard of. Pretty neat stuff. Hey, a real cool black lizard just ran down my fence! Anyway, yeah I love those old images and sounds reminding me that my life is broader than the little slice I'm experiencing right now.
I just want you all to know that I'm here (this includes all those who didn't come last night and even any old tribal ghosts who might silently haunt here)if you need me. I know that over the years it's been awkward trying to reconnect w some of you. You all have your images of me and I have mine of you. Those images are frozen in time and our own ignorance. I'm willing to really make conncetions with any of you through email--and by phone. What I mean is those who really want to connect and work at a relationship. I don't have alot of time and I'll most likely be more in conctact w you on the net at first. I live in South Tampa in The Carmen, the mint green palazzo on A Street and Hubert. Just so you'll know, I miss all of you so much. Tim and Steph--I hear you are moving near me. I hope we'll spend some time together. I told Lane and Jesse to come over anytime. I am moving my current spiritual retreat center and new wave/art emporium over the next few weeks. Feel free to call me anytime so we can connect. And, Joe, if you're reading this.....I can't call you. You have to call me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sorry. You just have a sucky number for my phone.
