: : What if I can get the same quality of tattoo, or better, for less money? I tend to believe that quality costs more. What if the expensive artist doesn't? I tried to find the artist who did Corey's tattoo, but he works in Seminole now.

: : What would you guys do?

"They" say word of mouth is the best advertisement. So I say, "Hound people who have tattoos that are good."
Ask your friends(I'm sure youv'e already done that) and ask people you don't know.
There are a lot of tattoo shops here in New Port Richey, I have no idea why. My next door neighbor is a tattoo artist. He has done many of his own tattoos.
I don't know what you have budgeted for a tat, but I agree 300 bucks sounds like too much.
However I also agree that quality costs money. If your unsure what to do wait and keep looking for an artist.
You should also not feel weird going back to the shops you've already visited and meeting the artist again. You ARE planning on letting this person stick sharp things into your body for the love of Pete.
That's my advise. And this would be a hard decision for me to make also.
Which is why I would probably never get a tattoo. After all it is forever...well, in a non-eternal sense anyway.

: Maybe you could call around and describe what you are wanting and get estimates from other tat artists. I would never pay hundreds of dollars for a tat--maybe $150 max, but I just cant see putting $200 or more into a tat. Then again, that's my own personal evaluation of tats. I think they are great, but I don't think I would want to pay THAT MUCH for one. Right now I could think about alot of things I would do if I had an extra $200. I could by art supplies or put it in my school fund, or maybe go out and get some cool albums like THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS' FLOOD. Or RED by THE COMMUNARDS. Yeah! Also, going into a new home on my own, I could really use a POWERFUL vaccuum cleaner. Then there's always that years supply of large canvases and paint to go on them. Then I could get creative and start my old goal of creating a paper chain that could go around the entire world. But I'd have to have a million magazines and lots of glue and glitter and construction paper for that. And then I'd have to figure out how to accomodate all those zoning laws and have lots of people willing to hold umbrellas over the chain in rainy parts of the world. And you can imagine w a porject like that there would always be 'cutters' about who would be trying to dog everything up. So, you'd have to get 'stealthy guardians' to 'watch' the chain. You'd have to pay all those guys, unless you could get local police departments to care about your vision of linking the entire world. Then there's my ultimate secret weapon, I would become a recording artist. I already know the name of my band, EFT. I have previously described this music I am constantly hearing in my head as 'reindeer music' or 'amphibious rock'. It is the sound of one million reindeer marching, complete w bells. It is the sound of giant otters slipping into the kitchen of your mobile home and slipping and sliding around with delphynic energy. It is the sound of the smell of Halloween and it is the sound of the beatific vision of ten million Christmas trees. Basically, if I had the money, which is going way beyond $200 I would create my first music video: WHERE IS MY LOVER?. It would involve a major Downtown city with a Cathedral with a good Crucifix and about one million reindeer and lots of young couples who really like public displays of affection. Also, I would need the money to pay Sali for putting us all in the right clothes, doing our hair, makeup, skin, etc. So, hope this helps you with your tattoo. By the way, I thought your fairies were cute.

: Later, Bill
