Now that Steven is working at the Library of the University of Georgia, here is a little article of introduction they wrote about him in their newsletter:

************STEVEN HOLLAND**************

A graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, STEVEN HOLLAND was thinking about returning to graduate school in the field when a coworker suggested he check out UGA. He liked the way town and campus looked and decided to relocate.

Now employed in serials, Steven’s library employment actually dates back to the sixth grade.

“I’ve always liked libraries. I’ve always liked books and reading. It just seems like a pretty good place to work,” he said. “I like them because they are usually a quiet place to work.”

Steven particularly enjoys studying ancient Greek philosophy and metaphysics and eventually would like to teach at the college level. In addition to reading, Steven also writes, mainly poetry and short stories.

“I’m really into books and movies. I like a lot of classic literature,” he said. “There’s a lot I haven’t read yet. I have a long reading list.”

Picking a favorite food would be difficult, Steven said, but he is fond of Chinese and Mexican dishes.

I’ve always been real nerd,” he said. “My Mom used to brag that I read the encyclopedia when I was five years old. Even today I like to study just for fun.”
