As a child I used to dream I could jump up in the air, and then just jump
again from that point in the air and just keep ascending. Also, I
used to dream that I could just sort of thrust my body around and it
would have to fly by the force of the thrusting. But, in reality that
just doesn't work. That's because in the mind there are less physical
limitations. Anyway, I find that my dream reality
and my waking reality (they are both reality) frequently merge,
overlap or permeate each other. I do make myself open to that--but
only as God wills it. I do not however, seek it out for my own ends.
My experience with this type of dreaming is always something of a strange delight.
I won't go into everything now, but I have had dreams tell me of
things that are happening in waking reality AS THEY ARE HAPPENING.
Also, I have dreams where I am simultaneously dreaming and aware of
my bedroom, the surroundings, objects, the orientation of objects,
etc. Once in a city bus, in dreamland, we pulled up at a red light, I
turned and looked out the window and there in a tree, was my alarm
clock. The tree bark was actually growing AROUND my alarm clock. It
read 7:25 am, and in 'waking reality' was due to ring at 7:30 am. A
boy on the bus asked me to get off at his stop and walk to his home w
him as his friends were throwing a party. I kindly explained to him
that I would only be in the dream reality for about five more 'waking
minutes'. I promised him that I would walk home with him as far as I
could, but I also qualified it by saying that I wasn't sure what
would happen to me in five 'waking minutes'......So, by the time we
got to his home, where people on the balcony were dancing and
inviting us up, I came to a blue door, on a building nearby on it was
mounted a silver metallic star which had my name on it. I knew I
needed to go through it, the way you just know certain things in
dreams. It's almost like there is some unwritten law--if Bill doesn't
go through the blue door, the sun won't rise. this could give rise to
so many problems and start an ugly chain reaction, so I went through
the door, and what I discovered was that I awoke in 'waking reality'
just as the alarm clock was preparing to ring. I was able to hit it
before it actually rang, but I heard the tension of it's springs and
mechanisms and knew it was just getting ready. I think the main thing
for me in dreams is that I KNOW I AM IN A DREAM, but I abide by two
things, the GOLDEN RULE (which is the highest law for both waking and
dreaming reality), and the laws of the particular dream. For
instance, in one dream walking upstairs might be the best thing you could ever do, but
in another, it may be the direct cause of turning the world inside
out. I would urge anyone who ever visits one of my dreams to stay as
far away as possible from any mechanical honeybees and also white
rats (at least until you know where the rat came from). One more
thing, I dreamt once that I was w some people in white robes who were
gathering oak and mistletoe for some kind of ritual. The next morning
I awoke to discover that in the night several oak branches had fallen
on top of my car, and they were all hosts to mistletoe. There was
tons of oak and mistletoe all over my car. None of my roommates' cars
had any on them. I'm not saying any of this means anything more than
this. The world is created in an orderly way by God. Even at it's
most organic and natural, the chaotic way we perceive it to be, is
flooded with order, and informed by a higher reality. Our job is not
to try to control it, but it is to walk through it in
wonder and in participation, giving glory to it's creator.
God bless, Bill
