: [Exactly, we enchant what we want. Middle Earth is enchanted since Tolkien was enchanted w it. The realms of the elven folk are enchanted today and we don't see them since we have ceased to be enchanted ourselves. Once we can reconnect with the mystery that enchants, we will all be enchnated once again. As Christians we see this not so much as magic but as 'relatio'. We see it as communion with God and reconnection with creation. When we enter that sabbath rest, we are enchanted. We are, as the Orthodox teach, divinized. We behold the consuming fire and become as He is. Then we can start to that the elves never really retreated behind the industrial complexes, but that they were here all along, and it was us who lacked vision. And that is why we were perishing. Now we have a moment of grace to gain it back again.]

I once saw an add in a magazine for pagans and newagers. It was for a book called somthing like, "How to invite magical creatures into your life." And the add talked about the power of dragons and such and how to get them into your life. I never saw the book, but the title intrigued me. Obviously it premised that these things exist. And that they could affect our physical world. What fascinated me was the idea of majik in the real world. To me it isn't enough to merely look for ways to pretend at my desires, I need to really see them manifest in the physical. For some it may be fulfilling to work it into some unified theory and go at that, but I want to see it. I want to talk with someone who is wise and holy. I want to walk into the building and feel the reverence of it. I want to be able to walk into the wild and face whatever comes at me. I want to be able to disappear into a crowd and vanish before someone's eyes. I want to be able to bullseye something with an arrow. I want to make the desires of my heart and the dreams of my mind a reality.
: [I think what we lack here (myself included) is the discipline to stay with each other long enough to realize this goal. The slightest things cause us to drift apart. We need to be like Jonathan's armor bearer: DO all that is in your heart, AND I AM HERE WITH YOU, according to your desire.]
now here I have hope, but i tend to be very realistic in this. I would love for this to happen. But it has to be a natural generation and can't be forced. We also can't sit and wait for others to come around. I keep hoping that if I do my thing and stay faithful to the desires God gives me, that the rest of the world will fall into place. I keep hoping to meet people driven in the same ways. Sometimes it just requires us searching them out.
Alot of it has to do with working with what we have. I mean that we offer our skills and time to each other for very simple things. We have to think realistically. This kind of thing is a slow lifelong process that can even be handed down for generations, each building past the others. We are starting from scratch. We may have to re-build the paradigm. But for now, I can build beautiful gardens, I can teach real world skills. You can paint, and you are very well connected both with people and with ideas. Between just the two of us we could really go a long way to building someone's dream. Now imagine the skills of everyone else that could be worked together. All we need is for people to desire something strong enough to pursue it.
: : Wow, I surprise myself at how fitting these thoughts are on the commemoration of the single most powerful event in human history. The day that such a powerful being broke every rule of nature and physics and justice to restore his lost race. It's epic, it's staggering, it's fantastic, and it happened. The dreams of centuries of people both past and present came true in that event.

: [Yes! Yes! Yes!]
When I catch a simple glimpse of how vast and powerful our world is it staggers me. We ARE mystical beings. We ARE the race of men among many others. Kathy gave me the new Kevin Max solo project for Christmas. Man this entire album fits exactly what we've been talking about and I just listened to it today! One song calls us the princes of the universe, shaping space and harvest places. And this is true! It's the construct you've been searching for and the paradigm I've been questing. Our heritage is immense and we deny it and turn back to the video game. It's like we mix out reality and bring it back artificially. But if we began to walk out our daily mundane actions in the full presence of the knowledge of who we are, our lives would begin to open up. And I beleive that the majikal creatures would truly start to appear... we'd see the influence of winds and auras. We'd know the desperation and the hope of others because we'd be able to see it. And we may even see the elves begin to walk among us again.
I know this can happen because I've had glimpses where it does.
