: So glad I finally saw it. Tonight Michael (he's been to Crossover before) came by and picked me up and we went over to Westshore and saw it. While there, my boss, Byron, and his girlfriend showed up and ended up sitting w us. Anyway, I loved it. I don't know who I had a bigger crush on--Galadriel or Legolas. Actually, I do. Anyway, it was good, and Gandalf was great! In case no one knew it, the leader of the elves was none other than the 'father' on The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. I have to say also that the Shire was very true to the book, and Tolkien's illustrations. The Ringwraith's were excellent. As I haven't read the book I'm not sure about whether the large tentacled beastie and the orc/goblin crosses were in the actual stories, but the latter were amazing creations. I also loved how they included Gollum and made him , well, so Gollum-like.

The movie was very well done. A lot of the scenes were just as I had envisioned them as I read. You should read the books! We like a lot of the same authors, and I loved the Hobbit and the LOTRs trilogy. It did take me a couple of attempts to get started on the Hobbit, but once I got past the first chapter, it sucked me in. I was so in love with the books that I went through the post-vacation blues when I finished reading them. I am shocked that you haven't read them yet.
