: the other day i was driving around and listening to NPR when i heard a rather fascinating story. it was how two scientist have possibly discovered two new stars that may prove the existance of a "new matter". i didn't get to hear all of the story on the radio, but what i did hear greatly aroused my curiousity. they had mentioned that this matter is so dense that a teaspoon would weigh as much as all the automobiles found on our planet. so, i did some research and found some articles online. these possible stars are quark stars. quarks are the building blocks of protons and neutrons. but these stars are made of "free quarks" which are basically quarks not contained withing the covering of neutron or protron, and have not been discovered on earth. these stars are not dense enough to be considered black holes, but they are more dense than anything else. they are smaller than the Sun, somewhere between 5-10mi in diameter, and much much hotter.

I think your story on the stars is really fascinating. When I ponder how complicated and immense our universe is, I know that we weren't created by some cosmic accident.
