Aliens in themselves are not bad. But the problem is they compete for limited resources. When a new competitor shows up in a place where it's limitor is not around it takes over and outcompetes the natives. This means they die. Now if extinction of a species was not bad enough, these species are specifically adapted to the environment in which they live. These environments are beautifully complex systems God has designed where every piece performs a crucial function. So if you keep taking pieces out you end up loosing the environment. Now if THAT wasn't bad enough, it goes beyond just loosing an innocuous habitat. These environments support the lifestyle that we enjoy. Do you like Rain? Function of the local ecosystem. What about freshwater? Another function. Then how about clean air, gentle breezes, food, comfortable temperatures, even sewage treatment. Function, function, function! None of these things can be supported without using the local environment to assist us. They are called natural services. And don't think that man can just replace them. Our infrastructure and technology are far less advanced than you think. All they really do is hook up our pipes to natural services. And i'm not talking about global scale. I mean right here in Tampa, we can't function without healthy wetlands and diverse native animal and plant species.
So, leave the birds alone as long as they cause no damage, everything has a right to life, but if it's them or us... kill the squaky monsters. If you want more detail on just HOW these natural services work let me know, it would take too much room here.
I just thought I'd inform you all. This is my job, and just yesterday I was arguing about wetland protection with Tim. C'mon, we're supposed to be so progressive, get with the program, lol. ;)
If my picture link worked you should be seeing one of Florida's many rare, and almost extinct beautiful birds. You'd see more of them, but we keep killing them and letting the boring things come in. >(
PS, if you have a cat don't let it roam. They have been proven to be one of the major causes of rodent and bird extinction.
: : i love the parrots on your street!!!!!!! one day, a while back, someone asked me if i had a favorite road. i had to think for a moment and then shared this: i was driving one day, i think to lakeshore learning center by your house, and i was driving down some road (which at the time i couldn't remember what road it was, just that it was by kennedy), and as i was driving and admiring the houses and the trees (ooooh i love trees so much i should live in one!) out of no where, and quite suddenly, a flock of the most beautifully bright green birds swooped down in front of my car. it was so completely unexpected, afterall, where in the middle of tampa do exotic birds just appear. i was sooooooo very happy that i had goosebumps and made all these ooh ooh ooh's and giggles, i practically stopped in the middle of the road because it was such and awesome moment. truly made my day!!!!! its wonderful to find god's beauty in unexpected places, it makes me all warm in fuzzy inside <3

: these parrots are aliens and i think you are even allowed to shoot them. but not me, i like aliens naturally moving into my local habitat, unless they are deadly viruses or something.
