There are a number of things that need to be done to set up the church each week (G does most of it now), and then clean up the church after the service. Of course it involves coming early, or working afterwards while everyone else talks. Mike Cleary will certainly need help coordinating and facilitating the whole sign painting thing and anyone who wants to put themselves at his disposal in this endeavor would be most appreciated. I will think about other things...

It think it's a great idea to have a gathering at someone's home, although it really would not be a cost-cutter. The church bills remain constant no matter where we meet (the cost of the child care workers excluded). The problem with doing it at regular service times is that we will be advertising the service (we really need to do this, and always planned to), and so there is a substantial chance someone could show up to find an empty building some Sunday afternoon. This is the kind of thing that would really bother me. (Knowing me, you know this.) I am loath to even advertise a gathering until I know it is really something, and I have some idea what it is trying to be. Now that we have a clue about the "what," and we will begin advertising it, I could not bear to have people visit and not find us. Perhaps we could do the fellowship at a different time/day?

Now that is just private, Paula. My off-duty relationship with ducks is my business. Someone may not share my liberty in Christ and may be offended. Oh well, it seems now the duck is out of the bag. So in the interest of full disclosure, to reduce the possibility of future culpability on my part, I must point out that these ducks never wear clothes. Never. As such, let everyone know full well that this is the case before they enter the realm of Vonlake. Furthermore, should Jonvon decide some day to emulate the ducks and waddle around honking sans garments and accoutrements, I will not in any way be responsible. Nuff' said.
