Ok, now I've seen it.
It started off fairly well. Although it was a movie based on a comic book, and intended for entertainment, I think it did a decent job of capturing the way that the amount of power one holds cna have a strong impact on your ethics. Even the main character struggled with the issue when he first discovered his powers.
It showed that when one has a support structure around themselves to help strengthen both their ethics, and their self-confidence, one can lead a positive life. MJ and Peter both sturggled with self-esteem issues, and their issues were resolved. Not thorugh super powers, but through friendship and family.
I think that this is a good message to send.
The downside is that despite this message, the main struggle still degenerated into punching and blowing things up. I was not impressed.
This does bring up an interesting point, however. Because I was not impressed with the struggle, I cannot in good conscience continue with my plans for invasion.
The invasion is hereby called off.
I will return to my homeworld now.
