dmoz states on their page for The Open Directory Project that "....the small paid editorial staffs at commercial directory sites can't keep up with submissions, and the quality and comprehensiveness of their directories has suffered. Link rot is setting in and they can't keep pace with the growth of the Internet."
Immediately when I read this I thought of several things. Here they are:
1) link rot reminds me of root rot or some other 'plant' condition.
2) bodies need blood, water and oxygen passing through them.
3) plants need xylem and phloem. (see above)
4) the lakota concept of 'mitakuye oyasin' all my relations.
5) buddhist mind.
6) koinonia-- the mystical body of christ.
7) librarians.
8) the need for story tellers.
