Here's another link on defining money. This has actually happened in certain places. I am thinking of a town in Alaska where banks where too far away to reach. The people began writing checks and then passing the endorsed uncashed checks from person to person as money. Now the checks are long past any good, but the money is still valid in the town because everyone accepts it as good.
Imagine the possibilities in your life right now. A nearly steady-state economy is not necessarily a distant dream, especially on a local scale.
