: paula and i ate there one time with our kung fu instructor and her kids, and i think maybe her mom and possibly her dad, can't remember now. i do remember the food being really awful. that place is not about the food, its totally about the goofy little kids show they have there... teenage "actors" doing high dives from the "cliffs" and whatnot. standing in the cafeteria style line for the "food" was bizarre. i felt like a head of cattle in that place.
yeah, between that and some green guy in a well screaming at you and people going around handing out glo-in-the-dark freez-eeee-necklaces, you never get a break. every now and then i'd go sneak down into the caverns and look for fishies. then there were always the trips into the haunted mineshaft.
: when did you go there bill? or, with whom? that is so weird that in your brief stay in CO, you somehow ended up eating there.
i actually lived in Lakewood and Thornton from 1977-1979. During that time I went to Casa Bonita more than once. I enjoyed it very much as a child. I don't know what I would think now. I don't recall having eaten much of my food. Infact, I can't even recall what I might have ordered, but I do remember sneaking about the place. During those years me and my brother had a club called P.E.P.S. which stood for Private Eye Police Squad. We were always snooping out a possible case, and could you imagine the potential for a real 'case' at Casa Bonita? Wow! The possibilities were endless. The mariachi band was always suspect. They were up to no good.
