Oh, and I forgot the Streetside Eatery up in Broomfield. That is the place to go for discussions about how painful your current working life is. Somehow the food makes it all seem reasonable.
Seems that alot of cats in Broomfield spent there times together talking about how painful their worklife was. I never ever understood mine. I actually never 'clicked' w mine so it was all so anti-climactic for me. I guess if I had understood my job, maybe I would have experienced more pain.
Anyway, some other places I recall eating that my roommate took me to up there were a small Asian fastfood place where there was a guy wearing a Richard Scarey T-shirt, he worked behind the counter, and he and I were talking about the Cure concert that I never saw. I think he was going to go. It was a neat little place w a real futuristic, sort of plastic and metal interior to it. Then there was that neat little rice place north of Broomfield, the Pizza place where we watched girls wrestling on the tele, the Russian Tea Room (Jonvon and Pollavon took me there), a sandwich shop in Niwot and the Indian and I think Nepalese places in Boulder. Oh yeah, how could I forget a curious little Subway on Wadsworth somewhere between Colfax and Mexico. It was on the east side of the road, very typical, and you know--there is something at once terrorizing and therapeutic about going half way across a continent and seeing the same dern wallpaper of people underground in tubes juxtapozed w old maps of Queens, etc. But the main thing I remember about this place was the curious sandwich dude working there. He was very errr--- friendly in an odd sort of way, in an almost spooky sort of way. Maybe he could sense that on this particular day I was looking at everyone as if they might possibly be a grown up version of one of my former fourth grade classmates. Perhaps he saw me searching for my long-lost friends who might be still hanging around Lakewood. Perhaps I was really the spooky one and he was just noticing me.
O.K. I hope that is enough.
