: Here's a timely quote my dear friend sent me:
:
: This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
: I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live , it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.
: I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
: George Bernard Shaw
By reading Shaw's quote, I get the impression that he had the heart of a servent. This is something that is lacking in my life. I think a lot of us are of the "Give me" attitude. We look for what others can give us instead of looking for ways that we can give to others. When I was at Cornerstone, I was really slammed with this servent message. I feel that God has been showing me that I will be much more content with my life (myself) if I spend more time loving others. Unfortunately, I came home to find my sweet Cyon had passed and got all tied up in the grieving process. I'm glad that you posted this because it reinforces what I believe God has been showing me and reminds me to get my eyes off of myself and to focus on God. Then He can help me be the servent that He is leading me to be. I fully realize that that most likely wasn't the intention of your post, but thanks! :)
You don't speak much in church, but when you do it is really encouraging. Thanks for being you!
BTW, If you and Steven are spirited children, and I do believe my Love is, then I think they rule too! Thanks for the links.
