since it was 10 years ago this month that i met cari, i just wanted to take the opportunity say a couple of things:
cari is so very intelligent
cari is so very honest
cari is so very funny
cari is so very loyal
cari is so very talented
cari is so very generous
cari is so very fun
cari is so very full of love
cari started her new life here with very little but a great resume, a loving and supportive husband, (yes, steven, if you're reading this i think you're wonderful, too), a desire to serve god, and a room in my house. maybe we connected right away because we were both redheads at the time. (har!)
cari is the kind of person who totally excels at whatever she sets her mind and heart on, whether it's her career, her schooling, being a devoted wife, friend, step-grandma and auntie.
the other thing i really love about cari is her sense of style and her ability to gracefully combine it with all the restrictions our society tries to put on us.
we share the deep desire to have children of our own, but in the meantime cari has managed to "mother" a lot of other people who have crossed her path, including me along the way. i remember sitting in a restaurant a few years ago with her, crying my eyes out, saying, "you're just going to have to love me more than i love you right now." and she did...
