Buddy did not have a stroke--thank God! He was immobilized from intense pain when his back leg gave out suddenly.
The first vet thought it was a stroke (and told Terry so she could fall apart, before he even checked it out!), then later decided it was rapid progression of his hip dysplasia (from active to completely lame in one second flat--NOT!). Needless to say, this vet is an idiot in both diagnosis and patient relations. Stay away from PetSmart Fletcher.
The second vet (a much better vet) thinks Buddy blew his knee out somehow. This makes much more sense. The problem will require a fairly expensive surgery. Although this is serious, at least it is not life threatening, which is a blessing.
