Ok, at the risk of being misunderstood...
It would be nice if we could all be honest and real and leave it at that. The world would really be a wonderful place, yes?
unfortunately, there are people who are just selfish and self absorbed out there who really don't care about any of that and just want what they can get. Right? Let's call them Meanies.
Then there are the people who are well meaning but for whatever reasons, can't seem to get outside themselves and really examine what makes the world and people tick. We'll call them Washies.
Now
The rest of us (somewhat caring normal) people (let's call them the Realies this would include you Raul), have been burnt by Meanies who care nothing for honesty or being real.
And as a consequence of the Washies being all caught up in themselves, they have accidentally hurt or abused the Realies.
Now what do the Realies do?
They withdraw a little, they are now guarded and suspicious of other "Realies" people, as well as the "Meanies" who often masquerade as "Realies" and they are cautious around the well-meaning but careless "Washies".
So it's ok to take time to get to know people. Also, you have the Spirit of God in you to help you discern. Maybe you are better at listening than others, so you are bolder. It's not a bad thing.
It's the way you are Raul, it makes you special and cool. So be you and let God use you to reach people. Just dont' expect the other Realies, Meanies and Washies to be like you.
This is extremely simplified to make my point.
This is not meant to categorize anyone, any similarities to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.
See, it's just life as we know it, and Bill has a point; it's not always about other people.
