You all cannot know the amount of love and joy that you bring to our family. We moved across country and lost it all only to gain the most incredible gift imaginable: our friends. You have become our family and bring us so much happiness and peace. You are the people our daughter trusts and will grow to consider aunts, uncles and the like. Your presence is what will help make our house a home.

An hour before you all came, I was upstairs throwing up then laying in the bed, miserable and sick, sick, sick. I found myself praying that I would feel better which is not something I normally do. I generally save the prayers for others or big things. About 30 minutes after you all started to arrive I heard my brother Bill's voice and the crazy neighbor telling him he was odd for whatever reason and his lovely reply, "Thanks for noticing." In my misery, I smiled, laughed and couldn't wait to hug him. Within about twenty minutes after that the nauseau lifted and I was able to come downstairs. A tiny miracle in the grand scheme of things but something very precious to me. I felt awful in my body the whole night but my heart was well with joy at being with you all.

As Steve played the guitar and everyone sang while sitting around the giant coffee table, I thought to myself how life couldn't get any better. Your love, your voices and your spirits bless our lives, home and hearts. You heal us.

Our door is always open (please call first to appease my spirited childness). Our home is very much the result of your prayers and friendship.

I love you.
