: : what do yall think about that?? i listen to bands like diecast and testament..bands that are not satanic..but are truly atheist..if not agnostic in their lyrical content...what do you think about that...a lotta the bands i enjoy happen to be non christian...and some of these bands have qualms about the jesus thing...what do yall think about this..i listen to them for musical content..and i can understand cuz i once was an atheist..and so i can relate in a wierd way..if that makes any sense..i would rather at times talk to some atheists than half the christians out there....so yeah..i just am into the scene..so i enjoy it all...lately its been more secular stuff tho.
: : ~Testament? I listened to Testament back in the late 80's, is this the same band? Mostly what I listen to is not christian, so I'm not anybody to tell you "don't listen to that." Some of the bands I listen to also have qualms about the jesus thing...but I look at it that they're talking about your usual legalist or fundamentalist trying to convert them...I mean I have qualms about the Jesus thing too, in the sense of how it was all abused and distorted, I experienced that in the past...was kinda caught up in that ----
: : ~Anyway, I don't know if this makes sense.
: ahh but it so does marcos..i have had and will continue to have qualms about the "jesus thing" i mean on both extremes its bad the fundamental legalist and the non fundamental free christian is also a pain in my rear..so i just try to stay in between..
: at this moment i am listening to promessa divina..a christian black metal band who sings in portugese. i do love the christian metal scene..and i am doing what i can to learn more about that scene...it takes a lotta research and networking..but i have discovered some cool bands along the way...and have found a neat site to trade off your unwanted christian metal cds..i have done so and have recieved a lotta nice stuff i wanted because of that..so what bands specifically are we talkin about marcos that you are into?? i am sure that i have heard of some of them...go ahead..let me know..;)
: mine are as of late are these..
: immortal souls, sanctifica, yeti, garden of shadows, inflames, night in gales, which are blackmetal/melodic metal/death metal bands...i need to do some more music research..while i am pretty well rounded in the secular/christian music thing..i could always learn more.
~Some of what I was thinking of when I responded earlier was Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Nitzer Ebb,
Christian Death, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Consolidated, etc.
-I'm gonna be thinking of earlier posts that I have seen lately that I didn't get to reply to, as I continue to respond here, so I'll kill a few birds with one stone. I think there was a post by you
titled "metal rules me" or similar: I like and always have liked a variety of music, maybe right now
now I'm open to all kinds of different stuff than ever before, yet my heart is and always will be
in goth/industrial/old wave/punk, I'm old school. I listened to much harder stuff in the past, i.e. heavy industrial, hardcore and death metal, but I'm not really into it now.
-"Vinyl rules my face:" I've inherited a certain collection of vinyl, not necessarily by choice, of old records from my older brother. For a long, long time they've just been sitting there; but recently I got a turntable and took a second look of what I got:
chaka khan, shannon, beat street soundtrack, afrika bambaataa & soulsonic force, egyptian lover,
electric kingdom, kraftwerk (tour de france), fatboys, donkey kong, rock master three, ll cool j,
run dmc, mantronix,....you get the idea
So to answer Kat and what Patrick said, this is one big reason why I got interested in breakdancing,
I got some of the original breakdancing music here.
Saludos a todos,
Marcos
