:The soul thus saved would rather sink into the flames of hell
than steal into heaven and skulk there under the shadow of an imputed
righteousness. No soul is saved that would not prefer hell to sin.
Jesus did not die to save us from punishment ; he was called Jesus
because he should save his people from their sins."
~I remember a time when I thought I had lost my salvation, about 3 or 4 months after I had gotten
it, because I thought I had blasphemed the Holy Spirit, according to Mark 3:28-29. Although, I never actually said a word, I was tormented by thoughts day and night that "did" this. At one point I
resigned to the fact that I was lost and damned but told Jesus that I want a relationship with Him
and not go back to sin while here, other for the sin I had already committed, for which
I believed I would be in hell when I died anyway, in a way it brought some peace in that I would be
living for Jesus, not for salvation, since I had lost anyway forever. `
:Anyway, this is not to put me in some great light, since about 3 years after my salvation I "backslid" and became very confused, coming to not understanding the church (as I had experienced it personally 'till that time) and where I had come to after all, after all that, I questioned: was all that crap real after all? and feeling really hurt. I guess in some ways it wasn't all real, no matter how sure I was at one time. But I honestly I say coming to Crossover back in the day really helped me out, gave me a new perspective and put things in a new light, about the "protestant" church and what I had believed in, it helped me to get over a hang up I had, to see that it wasn't all or nothing, that I could believe again, go back to God, but without trying to recreate the same evangelistic experience; they were and are wrong in many points, I couldn't and should not back to them.
Well, I don't know, enough of that part, I'm kinda in a weird mood, but you know, here is the thing,
those that say "I do not sin", well yeah, if you walk the spirit you will not be a servant to sin. Yeah, in KJ it says in John 8:34 whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. It also says in
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Well, I think there's a lot more to that but It's late and I'm out for now.
