OK, so I was touring a variety of strange places yesterday, but in between stops, we actually went over to the federal center and looked at all the computer equipment that is up for auction.
I saw the biggest drafting tbale that I had ever seen. It was huge. You could fit 3 people at that table and all of them could be drawing comfortably. Then I noticed that its surface was a little funky, and that it had computer output ports. Then I realized that it was a huuuuuuuuge drawing tablet. Anything you draw on this table can be sent to your PC. It was insane.
Then we went down into this old nuclear missile launch site. It was full of nasty stuff like asbestos, so we had to wear protective clothing and respirators and whatnot. But when we got inside, I saw the largest single room that I have ever seen in my life. Imagine a Wal-Mart or Target or some such place. Now imagine that it is totally empty. Now imagine it being 8 stories tall. Now imagine it being 80 feet underground. Now imagine finding a small door at the end and walking through and finding many more huge rooms. Now imagine there being 1/2 miles of tunnels branching off in 3 directions and finding more huge underground rooms in all of them. Once again, it was totally insane. The place hasn't been used in almost 40 years, and the current owner is selling it.
Then we went for japanese food and ate lots of good food.
