: : now, i'm not one to get excited about guavaween. in fact, in my 20 years of being in tampa, i've gone only once, maybe twice. i hate the drunken asses and all their tomfoolery. and i can't stand being around soooo many people... crowds make me claustrophobic, and most of those ybor people just make me plain sick. BUT, i was quite surpised to hear that Sevendust and Blindside are going to be on the bill this year. soooooo. i think i may be sacrificing the $10 just to see them play. maybe it will also be better this year, since i have a nice big boy to protect me from the monsters.... anyone else interested in going????? a group would be nice!!!! let me know.....
: Would that be part of the refuge stage? probably not. But man, this has brought me back memories, like back in the day, I used to go the Refuge stage at Guavaween, I always used to see Yahoo playing there. Men, I remember the mosh pits there, on the brick streets of Ybor, like if you fell it wasn't like at the Refuge on a carpeted floor, oh, oh, on brick that really crapin' hurt. One time later on, I remember seeing Atomsmashers Named Suzie with Cliff playing there, think that particular time was in '97...and the more I think about it I remember praying for them and that show at the old Croossover, monday nights, anyone remember? ...and like yeah, I remember these girls praying too, I can't remember their names now, all I remember is they were related to Mark MDO, like his cousins or soemething? ....
: Oh, yeah, and like Blindside, I remember seeing Blindside like 4 or 5 years last at the Refuge, and I remember seeing Ryan (Rhino) getting totally caught up in worship like only he can that night, .....men, there's a lot more I remember, like opening a flood gate and the waters of memories filling my brain, but that's enough, I just had to let that out so I can sleep; sorry.
~I forgot to say the Refuge stage at Guavaween was for me, like being right at the frontlines, like they were there reaching out to all those drunks assess and all that crowd, in a way that nobody else could, in a way that they could understand, but without compromise and without fear.
