KAt and Marcos, It means alot to me that you both got involved on this string, since this topic is dear to my heart for MORE THAN ONE reason. Halloween will teach us alot about ourselves. I'm just one who cannot surrender this most sacred time of the cycle of the year to the whims of modernists. I don't want to see my rich world ignored by those who would seek to demonize it and abstract it at the same time. I want to save Hall-O-ween from those who want to X it. I want to NAME it so that we can continue to have the gifts it brings to us. Thanks again.
Kat, I loved your information on the Jack-O-lantern's history. It's neat to see that our modern Hall-O-ween is not a prepackaged deal, but that it has come to us from Indo-European, Celtic, Roman, Irish, English and finally Native American roots. And now we have this modern American phenomenon of Hall-O-ween, and that's just how American's experience it. Thanks again guys and gals.
