I couldn't have said it better, Jeff. The foremost need we ALL have is to know God's love for us. Although we do see it and receive it from others, there is a limit to how much we can squeeze out the second-hand sponge of love and validation. We all have to learn to receive God's love for ourselves. Our commitment as a body is to help everyone learn this, and sometimes part of the process is telling the hard truth when it needs to be said. This is also true love--kicking someone you love in the butt to push them into the direction of healing. We all need this kind of love from our friends sometimes, to propel us into the arms of the ONE who loves us the most. Real and durable healing only happens here.
We are all here for you, Raul. We love you enough not to let you go on in a miserable state. You will be challenged to grow and accept healing. If you refuse our love, it will indeed become uncomfortable for you here. But in our love, we cannot just allow you to remain stuck in this ongoing rut. You are too good a person and too precious to God.
