: : : with humble apologies to 'inkling' i need to warn you all that the 'inklings' are OF THE DEVIL. they discuss wizards, witches, Santa Claus (how dare they?), talking animals, magic, dragons, and little elf-like beings in their stories. they also were known to be beer drinkers, partiers, naked-swimmers and even mythology-readers. you better watch out. i'm serious. those are a bad group of boys. STAY AWAY! OF THE DEVIL!
: : yeah but, some people LIKE wizards, witches, Santa Claus, talking animals, magic, dragons, and elvish sorts (or shorts). also, some people LIKE beer, parties, swimming naked and mythology! i don't happen to like beer myself cause i'm kinda allergic to it, and i happen to be too embarrased to go swimming even with shorts on most of the time, but personally i got nothin agin any of these loverly items.
: : also, i happen to think this whole OF THE DEVIL business is frankly OF THE DEVIL.
: Yeah, what John said....
: : so there. (insert raspberry here)
Dear inkling alert service,
I must take offense though. Simply because one makes use of things such as, "wizards, witches, Santa Claus,... talking animals, magic, dragons, and little elf-like beings", in the realms of literature and story telling does not mean one endorses wizardry, witchcraft and the like.
This is simply a story telling device and a way to (effectively I might add) convey ideas and infuse the story with a sense of wonder and surprise.
Also, may I point out that some of the greatest thinkers and writers of our time who were known as godly and upstanding men, engaged in some very questionable activities.
You, dear sir, simply point to our need for our redemption all the more.
"OF THE DEVIL", INDEED!
Hmmph, you are more like a Pharisee than you care to admit! Your apology is not accepted!
Yours truly,
inkling
