: Well, they introduced themselves as members of The Surreal Circus and began to disrupt the crowd. But I responded by saying from the stage. "How do you do and I am with the Jesus Village Flying Circus Dinner Theater and Fish Camp, where we take our fishing seriously." I stopped and they just stared at me, then one said, "cool name."

that's what i would have said. :-)

glenn it is really great to see this, thanks a lot for posting. i meant to write you when steve posted your email from before. really glad to hear you had a good experience and glad you went. i remember when you talked about that before when you came to CLF one of those sundays, i felt really good about it. i am a person who is incredibly burned out on going to church, or being a part of any church. Parallel Universe (as we are now calling it) is about as much church as i can stomach. and most of the time we are just playing songs and reading poetry. so maybe i'm not your typical christian saying, way to go! or whatever. but i can tell you that for me when i heard what you guys were doing in asheville something way down deep inside just said, "that is a good thing". even my wife sounded interested in what was happening, and she is even less interested in church stuff than i am.

in case you are wondering who i am, i'm the guy who told you that we modified your song "his name is jesus, he's my friend" to "his name is cheeser, he's my friend" for our little girl who has a little stuffed rat named cheeser. it's a little bit of fun we have around the house sometimes.

every time i see something from you, a report of some kind or whatever, i feel a little better about what you are doing, or maybe more connected to it. your words are just plain honest, not hidden in corporate-speak or christian vernacular (what do they call that, christianese?). i hope you continue posting here. thanks for your example and your life. you remind me of a friend of mine who continues to do the ministry stuff because he doesn't seem to have any choice about it. somehow its a part of his blood. anyway keep it up, i have a feeling that there are a lot of people who strongly believe in you, and you may not even know who they are.
