Marcos, Thanks for the great PEL installment on Yorubaland. I think it's important for others to see how the music and culture of the Yoruba people have shaped the culutre of the Americas, esp. cuba, Uruguay and Brasil. I think it's fitting to note who Spain and Portugal played a huge part in this too. What we enjoy and take forgranted today came to us through much suffering and also much creativity and dreaming. There is also a spiritual element to Yoruba creativity which is a reminder to us as Christians, not to divorce our faith from creative pursuits.

As a side note, I wonder if Phunklekitten checked out the drumming links on this installment. If not, and if Phunklekitten is reading this, the links are included below.
