We are at the intersection of many things
Everything is beautiful here
We have begun to see it
Shekinah slowly leaks out
Can we not tarry one hour?

Thanks Jonvon, the whole thing you wrote below slams! We resonate. Thanks. Love.

: : Dearest Bill,

: : In response to your question about animal spirits returning to God, I have written a short essay for you. :-)

: this is wonderful.

: the way you wrote out those verses, it reminds me a bit of a technical manual, like API documentation.

: for the uninitiated, an API is an acronym that stands for "application programming interface". basically what an API does is allow a programmer to access a certain kind of system. the system could be an operating system like Windows, or it could be something else. the API gives you little hooks that you can use to call out to the system you want to interface with.

: suffice it to say that the system, whatever it might be, has a bunch of internal rules or logic, and the API allows you to ask the system a question, or command the system to do something. the API is a sort of contract that just exists there as part of the system, and when the programmer discovers it, she might begin to write programs that take advantage of what the system has to offer.

: but what you wrote (or translated or whatever) wasn't in some sort of logical API like structure, it was more like poetry. but it felt different to me than maybe anything i have ever read.

: a lot of people have talked about (or preached about) the various covenants that god made with people as recorded/illumined in the bible. and sometimes the stuff that gets said is good, and sometimes it isn't so good. but there is some sort of underlying structure in what they are saying that kind of makes sense. there is something there inside us, and something permeating the universe at every point, and this something is god. how do we interface with this something?

: when i was reading the way you put all that together for bill i felt like i was staring into these soft warm very translucent windows. i think a lot of the time the translations we depend on cloud things up a lot. the more they try to put things into standard english the more it gets mucked. or, the more logical and reasonable it sounds, the less power is in it. sort of. i'm trying to say something but i'm not doing a very good job.

: let me just quote from that page:

: you hide faces of you
: they are terrified
: you take away ruach of them
: and to dust of them they return
: you send ruach of you
: they are created
: and you renew
: faces of earth

: ok, now this is more like an API, and more like poetry simultaneously than anything i have ever read. its like an API because when you first look at it, it is hard to understand. once you get used to reading API's, a new one isn't so bad. but the first time you see one its like, what the heck is this? its also like an API because it seems to be exposing something to me that wasn't exposed before. it seems to be opening up something to me that i can now access. i can ask questions, i can ask for certain results (perhaps) or whatever. am i making any sense here at all?

: its also like poetry because it IS poetry, but its more like poetry that i can *feel* than any biblical poetry i have ever seen.

: the combination of these two observations combine together in my mind to form a kind of transparent glowing window. i feel as though i am seeing into something that i have never seen before. like staring into a microscope. fun. i feel like some part of me is at home.

: also this feels very honest. you aren't trying to hide behind certain commonly held ideas or sacred cows. you hide faces of you. does god have many faces? the plural is interesting. i think about the wheels within the wheels. i think of god showing I AM in all things, revealed in nature everywhere. i think of the multiplicity of hindu gods, and god revealing truth in multiple ideologies, myths, religions. but mostly i think, what a mysteriously wonderful thing is here. its been hidden from me all these years. i need to get out more.
