The other day I was in line at Subway, as usual, only my copy of Valmiki's RAMAYANA, edited by Buck, was showing. So, this gentleman saw it. Later, while I was eating my 6" Turkey and Bacon w Onions, American and extra Parmegian, he approached me and inquired as to my interest in it. There were about 4 good answers I could give him, but I told him I simply enjoyed reading it. Then I went and sat with him. He introduced himself as Pradesh. The neat thing was that we both really LOVED the story of Rama and his adventures. Also, we both LOVED the SAME parts and in the VERY SAME WAYS. He asked me if I was a Hindu, and I told him I was Christian. Then we talked about God and how we viewed it. It was cool. Oh yeah, I asked him which temple he went to and when he told me I knew where it was. When I said I was Christian, Pradesh told me that he loved the Ten Commandments from our Scriptures. Yeah, I said, we have alot in common. We talked about the importance of having childlike faith. He was really devout and loves God. We talked about our differences, but mainly about what we have in common. And we talked a little about Bangalore being a little Silicon Valley. Please pray for Pradesh and for me, that both of us will grow closer to God through having met. And, if you get a change, check out THE RAMAYANA. It is like the Illiad or the Odyssey of India.
See you guys later. Bill
