: Deepavali--what a great name! You know, Steve has talked so much about taking what we've been given and giving it to people we meet. I pray that I can do that in Tulsa.

Deepavali is the 'fetival of lights' for Hindus. It is a time when they celebrate many things, but mainly pray for God's blessings. They pray to god through the goddess Lakshmi. Christians understand God specifically through Jesus, but Hindus pray in this way. I am not going to go into a theological treatise on this. They also remember when Rama, the epic hero of the Ramayana, comes home from 14 years of banishment in the forest. It is a time of great rejoicing, and also it commemorates Rama and Krishna, both incarnations of Visnu, slaying certain demons.

See you later. Bill
