I guess I am not the best friend, but I am fortunate enough to be on the reciprical end of friendships from a number of people who really know what friendship is. As if that in itself isn't good enough, they even know how to put it into practice. Friendship is real if you put your love for the person into practice. For that to happen, you have to be willing to invest time and energy into the relationship. I am still learning how to be less self-centered and more Christ-centered. I figure if I can do that, I'll really know how to be a good friend. In addition, I'll truly appreciate the blessing that my many friends are.
