People should have the sense to know what is appropriate for a public forum. Unfortunately, many seem to forget that. I think it is a good idea to make guidelines clear and zap any post that is not appropriate in this forum. Freedom of speech is great if everyone uses their brains. Unfortunately, some brains have an automatic shut-off when something angers them...
Everyone, me included, needs to remember that posts are kind of like audible words in that you can't take them back once you hit the send button.
