Yes, men can be annoying, and yes, Americans can be annoying. But you guys should both know better than to tie those together and say that it is an american thing. Have neither of you guys spent much time around the Mexican culture? I'm sure you have, so why do you miss one of its strongest traits? The machismo in that culture is legendary, and makes all Americans look sensitive at times. The guys I have met from Europe are just as bad. Its just that without the beer and football and redneck tendencies, it comes out in different ways that may be harder for Americans to notice.
I'm not going to deny your feelings, but please be careful in making generalizations that are more wishful thinking than fact. I am detecting a tendency for you guys to look for the negative when you get into conversations like this, and I think these assumptions are part of that....
