Every year I somehow end up getting to see the Christmas episode of MY SO CALLED LIFE where Rickie gets kicked out of his father's house and ends up staying in an abandoned warehouse on Kennedy. This is the episode where Juliana Hatfield (above) guest stars as an angel. The problem with writing about MSCL is that it IS quite simply one of the most well written shows that I have ever seen on television. There is no end to the complexity of each show. The acting is superb, the scene changes are flawless and of course, the script is really thick. I absolutley love every episode of MSCL that I see. My goal is to own them all on DVD one day. Well, I just wondered if any of you also liked MSCL. I am a huge fan! I know I'm probably not only dating myself by saying this, but also identifying with something that obviously appeals to teens. Oh well, it's good stuff! Especially this episode. Especially since the mother prays and the father returns to church for the first time in (apparently) years but there is something real about it for him. It is amazing! I love when Jordan takes Rickie to the warehouse and briefly tries to identify with him and Rickie tells him he will light a candle for Jordan, who has the same homelife as Rickie. Jordan scoffs at him for this asking if he really believes in lighting candles (praying). Later in the show when we are briefly shown everyone's perspective of christmas eve, we see Rickie, in church, lighting his candle and Jordan, somewhere, lighting a candle too, obviously repentant and seeing the meaning in it. This show rocks! Any other MSCL fans out here on hifidelity?
